Wash basin

Basic facilities

George Bryant, an architectural student from Seattle, squatted No 3 Tolmers Square after the last tenants left. He writes: ‘The house was in shockingly bad condition with serious damp in the back wall and leaky windows. The WC was pretty gross but it worked. The WC was on the ground floor below the stair and the sink was on the stair landing between floors. Hard to believe that people had been actually paying rent to live there. The house had been rather grand and had seen better days.’
