PANEL TEXT
Tolmers Village Housing Association
If Camden Council and private landlords are unable to manage our housing, shops and businesses, we can do it ourselves.
As a legal, non-profit making body the TVHA, with financial assistance from the Council, can buy and improve all property in the area except for owner-occupied property
Control of management decisions should be in the hands of a locally elected organisation.
TV Housing Association
Camden Council loans and Government grants
Management Committee
Professional advisors
People of this area
TVHA should decide which properties to improve and convert and which to rebuild.
What would this mean for business and residents?
1. fair rents would be charged.
2. Repairs and maintenance would be carried out by the TVHA at no extra cost.
3. Everyone would have security of tenure.
4. A high standard of construction and maintenance.
5. An opportunity to influence the design of our own dwellings and premises.
6. No large scale demolition unless we want it. Instead a gradual process of improvement.
7. Maintenance of the existing character of the area as we know it.
8. Faster response to demands for improvements and repairs.
9. Opportunity to influence the policy of the Association.
10. Democratic control of management of property.
Do you think this is a good idea?
