Savonius rotor
Savonius rotor for generating electricity on the roof at 58-66 Euston Street with St Pancras Station in the background, 1976.
It was built by Alex Smith from a 50 gallon oil drum. The rotor made enough electricity to power a car headlight and charge a battery in the workshop.
