Mark Castro was the caretaker for a building owned by Stock Conversion Ltd at 56 Hampstead Road. On the morning of Saturday 13 October 1973 he was in the house when it suddenly collapsed. The emergency services were called and frantically searched the rubble for survivors. Luckily nobody was hurt. He then moved with his family to Acton.
