
From 1973-75 Paul was a student at the School of Environmental Studies, University College London and later from 1981-85 at the Bartlett School of Architecture and Planning, University College London.
He worked for a number of architectural practices on a variety of building types – social housing, offices, interiors, schools, a university library in Nottingham and a local museum in Banbury.
He was a colleague of Barry Shaw for 10 years at ECD Architects and later at Randall Shaw Billingham.

When he learns that a chicken has been cooked in the oven he is horrified and says he cannot use it to bake bread, explaining to its baffled makers that the spirit of the chicken remains inside.
